Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher in a school setting located in New Haven, CT. This contract position focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive an equitable education tailored to their individual abilities.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Adapt general education lessons to meet the unique learning requirements of students with disabilities.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of academic achievement and behavior.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Employ behavioral intervention strategies and facilitate social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with special education best practices.

Qualifications and Desired Experience :

  • Valid state certification in Special Education teaching.
  • Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs and disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and instructional strategies.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to design and implement creative, individualized teaching approaches.
