T he Quality Control Technician works with production staff and leadership to inspect and test our products to ensure conformance with Bodypoint standards and design specifications based on physical and analytical testing; visual inspection; first part evaluations; and tests as needed for failure analysis. The role is responsible for recording accurate Quality Control records data and recommending appropriate data-driven actions, and maintaining calibration of all inspection and production tools, equipment, and gauges.
This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is a non-supervisory position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs routine measurements, inspection, and gaging as defined by part standards for incoming and production materials and parts.
Reports any non-conformances and seeks assistance from the Quality Manager to analyze data.
Does in-process check per part runs on shop floor by required Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).
Collaborates with Lead inspectors and production staff on quality assurance procedures.
Records measurement data into UniPoint and Syspro database(s).
Extrapolates test data and presents information via charts or graphs.
Conducts quality tests to verify the physical performance characteristics of prototype and production parts; recording setups and results in photos and videos, taking measurements, and completing test reports summarizing results.
Orders tests from outside labs, prepares samples, and write reports on final results in comparison to required standards.
Communicates Quality issues to appropriate personnel.
Verifies that product meets pre-determined manufacturer specifications.
Performs receiving inspection per receiving details in Syspro ERP / MRP system.
Checks MRB (Material Review Board) area for any incoming non-conforming parts and places holds accordingly.
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience with High School Diploma or GED.
Three (3) or more years of experience in Quality Assurance.
Ability to read blueprints.
Technical writing experience, formatting images / videos to create clear and detailed test reports.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic photo / video editing software for creating test reports.
A team-oriented self-starter who communicates effectively with others.
Ability to diagnose complex equipment problems and determine solutions and opportunities for improvement.
Certificate in Metrology preferred.
American Society of Quality Certification or Certificate in Quality Management Systems preferred.
Experience with UniPoint, Syspro Manufacturing Operations Management, and specialized equipment software preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an hourly pay rate of $23.00 - $32.62 an hour. It is an on-site position in downtown Seattle working between the hours of 7am – 4pm daily Monday through Friday with weekends as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is conducted in a production environment around running machines and equipment. The employee is exposed to minimal noise levels in the work environment.
May be infrequently exposed to hazardous and non-caustic chemicals or solutions.
Bodypoint provides appropriate PPE for working conditions and environment.
Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pulling / pushing, kneeling, twisting, grasping, and walking.
Transporting and positioning of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Uses hand tools to set up test fixtures and operates electric / pneumatic equipment for testing.
