Job Description
TRC is seeking a Director of Strategic Sourcing to join one of our growing energy sector manufacturing clients for a hybrid style role!
Job Location : Tennessee Office – Portland, TN
Position Type : Full Time
Job Category : Purchasing – Procurement
Description
Unlike a traditional commodities-focused sourcing role, this position requires deep understanding of assembly-driven supply chains — including the components that make up enclosure systems such as small connectors, wires, panels, surge protection devices, and other precision-engineered parts. The ideal leader is hands-on, strategic, and capable of building a scalable sourcing organization from the ground up in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.
The Director will help architect the sourcing structure, negotiate high-impact supplier partnerships, and implement diverse sourcing strategies to mitigate tariffs and supply-chain risks while ensuring high quality and cost efficiency.

- Build and lead a high-performing sourcing organization; hire, coach, and develop a new team to support Shoals’ growth.
- Define and execute a comprehensive sourcing strategy that emphasizes assembly components and system-level integration rather than purely commodity management.
- Establish multi-sourcing strategies to mitigate risk, manage tariffs, and ensure supply continuity.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to align sourcing plans with new product development, cost targets, and manufacturability objectives.
