Shift : Combination of 2x8-hour and 2x12-hour shifts per week (Days : 06 : 50 – 15 : 20 / 06 : 50 – 19 : 20)
Job Responsibilities :
Provide surgical assistance in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) during a wide range of cardiac and vascular surgical procedures.
Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly arranged and functioning.
Anticipate the needs of surgeons during procedures and ensure timely and safe handling of surgical instruments.
Assist with patient preparation, draping, and intraoperative care under the direction of the surgical team.
Adhere to infection control, aseptic, and sterilization protocols to maintain patient safety.
Participate in surgical counts, time-outs, and universal protocol processes.
Support and assist with turnover between cases and post-operative room preparation.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary OR team to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.
Take call as assigned, including overnight and weekend shifts, to support emergency surgical procedures.
Required Skills & Experience :
Minimum 1 year of CVOR surgical technologist experience.
Strong understanding of cardiac and vascular surgical instruments, supplies, and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical workflow in a cardiovascular OR.
Ability to function effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced surgical environments.
Must be willing to participate in additional training and cross-functional OR responsibilities.
Certifications & Licenses :
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – required (NBSTSA certification or equivalent).
Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program – required.
BLS certification – preferred.
