Summary

As an Emergency Medical Technician, you will function as a vital emergency response medical professional, delivering immediate care to victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses, including cardiac arrests or strokes. You will provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from the initial contact until patient handover to the accepting medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service at public events and provide standby services as needed.
• Document comprehensive assessments and treatments using patient care software.
• Care for patients facing psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crises with appropriate medical and therapeutic services.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced life support equipment such as resuscitators and defibrillators.
• Assess the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses and prioritize medical procedures.
• Drive and operate emergency vehicles safely in response to dispatch instructions.
• Administer medications under the guidance of a physician.
• Communicate with medical personnel at treatment facilities to obtain treatment instructions.
• Clean and decontaminate the ambulance after treating patients with infectious diseases, reporting accordingly.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs over short distances. The role requires frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
