Consolidated Asset Management Services - Renewable Services LLC is hiring a BESS Senior Technician with knowledge in Balance of Plant (BOP) electrical systems and grid scale battery energy storage system (BESS) space. Our BESS Service Technician will be responsible for managing technicians in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting BESS site systems, and performing electrical repairs.
This position is a remote worker based within 30 minutes' drive from a managed BESS site near Seagoville, TX. The Sr. Technician will have the tools of the ROC at hand to guide the dispatched BESS technicians assigned to sites in TX and CA. Must have an excellent work ethic, good communication and documenting skills. Safety is paramount and this role requires the Sr. Technician to be proactive in administering the EHS and Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) programs to his team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all work in a safe manner in compliance with company safety policy.
- Responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of BESS systems and components. Sr. Technician will ensure that the work order system is fully utilized throughout the BESS projects for planned and corrective maintenance
- Able to replace / install hardware, inverters, monitoring equipment and any other component within the BESS site.
- Perform electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures.
- Prepare reports, if needed to comply with deliverables in O&M contracts
- Help in all areas of preventative and corrective maintenance as directed by supervisor with minimal supervision.
- Attend training sessions on equipment provided by the manufacturer and approved by manager.
- In the performance of duties, use equipment and resources in accordance with instructions provided by the company.
- Maintains adherence to Company policies, quality, environmental health and safety policies and good housekeeping practices.
- Carry out any other tasks delegated by the company.
- 25% overnight travel
- Routine travel to neighboring BESS and Solar sites to assist in maintenance as required
Requirements
Hold a valid Texas Electricians LicenseAbility to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.Experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting BESS systems preferred but related applicable experience is acceptable.Electrical knowledge / training experience of at least three yearsMust have good organization, communication, analytical, planning, time management, and customer service skills.Must be flexible, be able to adapt to new situations, practice self-discipline, and have high integrity.Must have flexibility to work during weekends and be always available on call.Competent skills using Microsoft office applications like Outlook, Excel, WordNFPA 70e, Substation Level I &II, First Aid / CPRAble to certify as Thermal Image user within 12 monthsMust be on call at scheduled times to respond to emergency call outsPhysical Requirements
