The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, focused on space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with teams to verify propulsion and thermal subsystems align with criteria, including coordinating flight installations and assemblies for engine and heat components; lead hardware demand planning, resource coordination, and task prioritization.
- Work with propulsion and thermal leaders to meet Blue Ring needs for propulsion and thermal assembly.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers, technician shift supervisors, and production planners to plan daily, weekly, and monthly work center production schedules.
- Support and coordinate the efforts of the multi-functional integrated product team (design engineering, manufacturing / production engineering, program planning & control, tooling, quality, test, and other support functions).
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to identify and resolve conflicts related to non-conformances, drawing release, work order releases and execution, and test planning to ensure proper people, parts, and procedures are in place for on-schedule propulsion and thermal integrations.
- Collaborate with the Blue Ring program team to manage technical and programmatic risks / opportunities, including identifying, documenting, presenting, developing mitigation plans, and driving outcomes at program-acceptable levels.
- Clearly communicate status, critical paths, challenges, and recommended solutions to leadership; provide constraints and mentorship to support teams.
- Coordinate with procurement and internal / external manufacturing to ensure hardware priorities are understood and actively managed to support need dates.
- Identify schedule-critical hardware, equipment, people, and facilities; resolve constraints.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering; physics; or other engineering / manufacturing core discipline.5+ years of experience in designing, developing, or producing complex engineered products.2+ years of technical project management or system integration experience.Experience with core project management skills including logic-linked scheduling, budget and schedule variance tracking, and reporting to leadership.Experience leading and participating in highly collaborative efforts and a desire to lead small teams on fast-paced hardware and flight projects.Demonstrated ability to build trusting, effective working relationships to improve team performance and deliver results.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience coordinating small to medium-sized teams.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Primavera (P6), CREO, Windchill, JIRA, MS Project.Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering or similar work in vehicle integration and test.Experience with risk management, configuration management, and requirements management.Experience with budget and Cost Account Management such as EVM.Experience across multiple portions of the product lifecycle.Experience with spacecraft propulsion or thermal systems or other high-performance systems.Culture and Accommodation
