Controls Engineer
The Controls Engineer is responsible for programming PLC, HMI, and communication systems. This role requires writing programs based on control narratives, I / O lists, and electrical schematics while maintaining a safe work environment and meeting deadlines. Responsibilities include developing PLC and HMI programs, performing FAT testing, start-up, and troubleshooting. Create I / O lists from P&ID's and review customer system specifications. Travel to perform troubleshooting, training, and start-up support. Collaborate with NES for programming support at customer locations. Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance efficiencies. Integrate communication between PLC and DCS / SCADA systems. Configure and scale connected devices for each system.
Essential Skills include proficiency in PLC programming, particularly with Allen Bradley components. Experience in automation and controls engineering. Electrical engineering knowledge. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Up to 4 years of programming experience, preferably with Allen Bradley.
Additional Skills & Qualifications include a 2-year degree in controls / electrical engineering. Background in programming water treatment systems is advantageous. Ability to extrapolate information from manufacturer's documents for device configuration.
Pay and Benefits : The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
