Crane Rigger Trainee

A Crane Rigger Trainee is an inexperienced applicant who is responsible for learning and performing all tasks on a Crane. They will assist with inspections and configuring cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, and blocks according to weight and size of the load to be moved.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Align, level, and anchor machine
- Attach loads to rigging support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools
- Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, booms, using bolts and clamps
- Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use
- Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear
- Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials, such as heavy equipment
- Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches according to load weights and sizes
- Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads in order to ensure safety of workers and materials
- Attends and participates in safety meetings
- Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability
- Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under and / or around obstacles
- Understand and comply with company, customer, and health / safety policies, and any other regulations that are required
- Reports any and all incidents immediately
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Performs other duties as directed by management

This job operates in an outside environment. The role routinely works in all weather conditions, including but not limited to : extreme cold, heat, wind, rain, etc.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work as job duties demand.
