Join to apply for the Staff Physician - General Diagnostic Radiology role at Penn State Health
The Department of Radiology at the Penn State University College of Medicine is seeking an energetic, innovative full‑time subspecialty trained Abdominal Imaging Physician to serve as a Chief of Ultrasound. Primary clinical duties include optimizing diagnostic ultrasound protocols, working with other physicians within Penn State Health to standardize protocols across the health system, and being the champion for ultrasound education for radiology residents, fellows, and other learners. Other duties will include interpreting diagnostic US, CT, and MRI. Procedural skills in fluoroscopy and virtual colonoscopy are considered an asset, although not a requirement.
Administrative time would be granted for the Chief of Ultrasound role. The successful candidate will join our group of 52 academic faculty, 8 APPs, and 28 community practice radiologists in a growing academic health system. This is a non‑tenure position and awarded academic rank will be commensurate with experience. A passion for teaching is essential as the education of our medical students, 28 residents, fellows, and staff is a core value of our program.
There is opportunity for innovative clinical research through collaboration with the Division of Radiology Innovation and Value Enhancement (DRIVE), supporting informatics, data analytics, and outcomes research. There is also potential for collaboration with the Radiology AI Lab for Imaging Innovation, seeking to enhance clinical, educational, and research endeavors in AI. The Department has state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic imaging and interventional equipment including four 128 slice Siemens Flash CT scanners with CT fluoro capability, four Siemens 3.0 T clinical MRI scanners, and an additional 3T Prisma MRI unit housed in the MRI Core facility that is used for clinical research.
