Title : Speech Language Pathologist

Location : CICS Longwood Elementary

Reports To : Director of Student Services

Salary : Starting at $35 an hour

Employee Type : Temporary Full Time (maternity leave)

Start Date : late October / early November

Position Overview

The Speech Pathologist provides support and conducts student assessments in all areas of communication development. Working in cooperation with network supervisors, teachers, families, and students, the Speech Pathologist is responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language, and hearing disorders to improve the communication development and ensure access to the general education curriculum. This is a temporary coverage position for a family leave, and will be for 12 weeks only.

Requirements (minimum)

Education : Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology and Communication Disorders

Qualifications

A valid license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Department of Professional Regulations endorsed as a Speech Pathologist

A graduate degree in communication disorders or speech pathology from an accredited University or College program

A valid license or credential issued by the state licensing board, with the appropriate Speech Pathologist endorsement

Physical Demands : Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and / or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 50% walking, and 40% standing
