• Certifications Required : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Fingernail policy : Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.
• Will not accept First Time Travelers
• NO LICENSE OR BACKGROUND HITS
• Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
• RN's - Pass / Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
• # of Beds : 18- Ratios : 1 : 1-2 ICU, 1 : 4 PCU- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Adults and Peds >

15 years old. Various Trauma injuries (only level 1 trauma center for the system, take in a lot of transfers and / or ED admits), Sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, cardiac arrest. CVPs, IABP and Impella-core staff will take if no exp; Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time. Zoll-Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuse- Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes- Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes- 1 : 18- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : Nasal cannula to vents- Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) : 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / / self-scheduling, managed by manager based on unit needs- Weekend Requirements : 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period- Floating Requirements : All over to the inpatient units, excluding Maternity / NICU- Scrub Color / Dress Code : Navy Blue- How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : 2 shifts- Additional Notes : Fast paced unit with critically ill patients. Attributes that help a nurse be successful on this unit include critical thinking skills, personable, positive attitude, team player.Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.Entered On : 12 / 16 / 2023 Cancellation can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks. Charting BSN License to Trauma Level : 1 Care Shift Notes : 12 hr nights Required , BLS, NIHSS Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Contract
