Forklift Operator contributes to the efficient operation of the warehouse by providing labor support to the Branch Office. Forklift operators are responsible for optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency, and managing inventory by utilizing RF scanning equipment, among other duties. Forklift operators will need to transport valuable items, requiring diligence and good hand-eye coordination.
Essential Job Functions
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability : Ability to use forklifts, pallets jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Must be able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints. Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of the warehouse environment. The incumbent should be able to follow written and / or oral instructions. Correctly follow a given rule or set of rules to arrange things or actions in a certain order. Require considerable and strenuous physical exertion so incumbents should be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds. Ability to read, speak, and write in English. Physically strong, agile, dexterous, and undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions. Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance. Available to work extended hours.
Other Working Conditions : Some Forklift Operators will spend time in the warehouse's refrigerated (Cooler and Freezer) section. Machinery operation requires using safety equipment including but not limited to steel-toed boots. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday (standard 40 hours per week); however, evening, night shift, overtime, and weekend hours are common in some branch offices.
