Unit Overview : Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, where you will provide care for complex patients, including :
Post-operative craniotomies, AVMs, and tumor resectionsCervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeriesStroke patients within our Comprehensive Stroke ProgramA high volume of spinal surgery patients and medical overflow casesAs part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII), our unit exposes you to the latest neurosurgical techniques and advanced patient care.

Assess and address patient needs using the nursing process, involving patients and families in care planning.Recognize and respond effectively to significant changes in patient status.Implement safety strategies and tailor learning approaches for patients and families.Coordinate discharge plans collaboratively with the healthcare team.Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and recommend improvements.Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members.Promote a culture of safety and report any patient safety events.Participate in quality improvement initiatives.Engage in professional development opportunities.Provide age-appropriate care based on patient needs.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the AHA.Education Required :
Graduation from an accredited Nursing program.Experience Required :
One year of clinical nursing experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
