Back-up QA Technician

The Backup Quality Control Technician is responsible for monitoring, testing, and verifying processes and products throughout manufacturing to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role supports the FSQA team by conducting audits, inspections, and corrective actions, helping to identify and prevent defects, and ensuring safe, high-quality products.

Essential Functions :

• Perform internal audits to assess readiness for regulatory inspections and ongoing operations.
• Assist in addressing nonconformities from internal / external audits and support USDA relations.
• Calibrate instruments as required to maintain an accurate food safety system.
• Follow up on and close preventive and corrective action requests from audits and FSIS inspections.
• Conduct periodic GMP and Food Safety training.
• Verify product quality through regular inspections and shelf-life testing.
• Maintain secure and traceable document control systems.
• Perform SSOP Pre-Operational Inspections and coordinate with USDA inspectors.
• Conduct safety checks as directed by the Safety Committee.
• Provide QA support and assist management as needed.
