Join Texas A&M University Libraries as the Repository Applications Librarian and help shape the future of access to our cultural heritage and institutional scholarship.
In this pivotal role,you’llhelp build and improve the systems that make Texas A&M’s digitized and born-digital collections discoverable, usable, and preserved for the long term while supporting researchers, students, and the public worldwide.Working closely with librarians, archivists, developers, and metadata experts,you’llbuild sustainable, user-focused systems that enhance discovery and long-term access.You’llcontribute to repository architecture, streamline workflows, integrate metadata, and support strategies that safeguard historically significant and diverse materials for generations to come.

Salary:$62,900.00 annuallyand a $3,000.00 stipend for professional development
Opportunities to Contribute:
Design, implement, andmaintaindigital repositories, asset management systems, and digital collection features.
Enhance repository platforms to improve functionality, performance, usability, and interoperability.
Develop metadata workflows and data pipelines to supportingest, transformation, synchronization, and quality assurance.
Ensure all systems and archived content meet standards for accessibility, preservation, metadata, security, and discovery integration.
Collaborate with archivists, librarians, faculty, IT, curators, and collection owners to define requirements, streamline workflows, and support access to unique and underrepresented collections.
Configure, manage, and troubleshootBrowsertrixand related tools to support web archiving and preservation of at‑risk web content.
Create documentation, training materials, and user guides to support repository tools and services.
Stay current with best practices in digital repositories, open‑source technologies, cultural heritage systems, and linked data.
Participate in initiatives and working groups advancing digital libraries,open access, and digital preservation.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Library Science or a related field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or Digital Humanities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A well-qualified candidate may alsopossess:
Master’s degree in Library and Information Science(MLIS), Archival Studies, or a related field from an ALA-accredited institution.
Experience with web technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or PHP.
Familiarity with digital repository and asset management platforms (e.g., Hyrax,Islandora,Samvera, Fedora,DSpace).
Knowledge of metadata standards and linked data technologies (e.g., Dublin Core, MODS, METS, EAD, RDF, SPARQL, JSON‑LD).
Experience with preservation and access technologies such as IIIF,Archivematica, Blacklight, or Spotlight.
Proficiencywith Git, Docker, and collaborative development practices, including testing and troubleshooting.
Understanding ofaccessibility standards (ADA Title II, WCAG 2.1) and their application in web systems.
Ability to document systems and workflows, analyze requirements, and implement sustainable technical solutions.
Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict‑resolution skills, with the ability to work both independently and in teams.
Demonstrated adaptability, initiative, and sound judgment in environments with shifting priorities.
