Position Overview

Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) will be responsible for overseeing the safety and health aspects of federal construction projects on O'ahu. This role is essential to ensure compliance with OSHA standards, EM 385 1-1 regulations, and other relevant safety protocols, thereby promoting a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Provide training and orientation to project staff on safety procedures and emergency response plans.
• Maintain accurate safety records, incident reports, and logs as required by OSHA and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure safety measures are integrated into project plans.
• Act as a liaison between the construction team and federal safety agencies to ensure compliance with all guidelines and regulations.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions.
