Director Practice Operations For Pediatric Services
The Director Practice Operations for Pediatric Services is responsible for the operational and financial performance of assigned pediatric inpatient and outpatient practices. This leader works in close collaboration with the Pediatric CPC Directors of Clinical Practice in a dyad model to deliver on strategic goals, quality initiatives, access targets, and provider alignment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provides operational oversight of all pediatric service locations (inpatient and outpatient) ensuring efficiency, quality, and access.
- Partners with dyad CPC Director of Clinical Operations leadership to co-lead initiatives in patient care delivery, performance improvement, and strategic development.
- Supervises all assigned Pediatric Practice Managers providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and professional development to ensure high-performing, engaged teams that deliver safe, efficient, and family-centered care.
- Oversees staffing models, scheduling practices, and clinic workflows that support high-quality family-centered pediatric care.
- Leads operational improvement efforts through the Bronson Management System and Lean methodologies.
- Develops, administers, and monitors departmental budgets ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Collaborates to optimize Epic workflows and provider documentation to enhance clinical efficiency and accuracy.
- Supports provider and team engagement strategies helping to foster a collaborative and resilient care environment.
- Maintains regulatory readiness and compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and other governing bodies.
- Analyzes key performance indicators, provider productivity, and access metrics to drive data-informed decision-making.
- Facilitates coordination between inpatient and outpatient pediatric care teams to ensure continuity and streamlined operations.
- Participates in space planning and facility changes as needed to support pediatric growth and service excellence.
- Leads or supports recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and development of practice managers and non-provider staff.
- Maintains a culture of accountability, safety, and service aligned with Bronsons Plan for Excellence.
- Engages in cross-functional collaboration with nursing, quality, IT, and finance teams to support integrated pediatric operations.
- Reviews patient satisfaction data and supports service recovery or improvement initiatives.
- Represents pediatric operations on committees and forums aligned with system and clinical goals.
Education and Experience Requirements :
Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field (required).Masters degree (MHA, MBA, MPH) preferred.5-7+ years of progressive healthcare management experience with at least 3 years in practice operations or clinical service line leadership. Strong preference for prior pediatric leadership experience.Proven experience overseeing multi-site medical practices and leading both inpatient and ambulatory operations.Demonstrated success in budget management, operational improvement, and patient access optimization.Experience with provider relations including optimizing team engagement, provider morale, and leadership in a dyad model.Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS) quality initiatives, and performance reporting.Epic EMR experience strongly preferred with a focus on identifying opportunities to enhance provider workflow, documentation efficiency, and system optimization.Proficient in revenue cycle processes, staffing models, and productivity benchmarking.Experience leading change management, process improvement, and high-performing team development.
