Job Title : Travel Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens

Location : Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania 18764

Employment Type : Locum tenens (Travel Contract)

Facility Size : 352-bed hospital

Unit : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg, EXT-Other)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), every other weekend and holiday

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Weekly Hours : 36

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 (surge plan up to 1 : 7)

Start Date : September 29, 2025

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania

Minimum 1 year of recent travel nursing experience in a Med / Surg setting

Tele nursing experience required

BLS certification (American Heart Association) required

Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

Ability to float to Medical-Surgical Telemetry (MS Tele) unit as needed

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including post-operative, bariatric, and oncology cases

Monitor patients using tele monitoring systems and collaborate with monitor technicians

Administer medications and prescribed treatments accurately

Document patient care and assessments in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and implement appropriate interventions

Float to MS Telemetry unit as required, ensuring patient safety and quality care

Participate in surge plans and adapt to changing patient ratios
