Ambulatory Service Representative

Location : Houston Medical Center

Pay Rate : $19 / hr

Shift : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking an Ambulatory Service Representative to support a busy outpatient clinic in the Houston Medical Center area. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate registration, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities :

Perform patient registration procedures and ensure all necessary forms are completed accurately for each visit.

Verify insurance benefits and identify correct plan codes for reimbursement accuracy.

Communicate with patients, staff, and providers regarding arrivals, delays, and clinic processes.

Schedule and confirm patient appointments, verifying demographics and insurance information.

Coordinate ancillary appointments, diagnostic tests, and follow-ups per provider orders.

Ensure interpreter services are available when needed.

Respond promptly to patient inquiries and provide culturally sensitive service.

Enter and reconcile daily charges in Epic and maintain related documentation.

Maintain office supplies and equipment, manage correspondence, and provide general administrative support.

Assist with patient flow to ensure efficient use of exam rooms and provider time.

Qualifications (Required) :

Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in a healthcare setting .

High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.

Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general clinic equipment operation.

Ability to provide excellent customer service and manage patient interactions effectively.

Preferred : Epic experience.

Bilingual (English / Spanish).
