Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to oversee accounting functions within a TPA setting. This role involves managing A / R adjustments, month-end closing, and financial reporting while supporting client financial audits and ensuring data accuracy. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • A / R Adjustments : Post Medicare, Medicaid, and Private A / R adjustments based on received adjustment forms.
  • Client Reporting : Prepare monthly client expense reports by specialty type, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Reinsurance Support : Assist in producing reinsurance reports and other financial analyses for clients and management.
  • GL Review : Review and verify GL coding accuracy, addressing discrepancies with TPA leadership.
  • Audit Participation : Participate in client financial audit calls, providing necessary financial data and insights.
  • Policy & Procedure Development : Support the development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial reporting and support data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

What You Bring

Required

  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting within a health plan, insurance company, or TPA environment.
  • At least one year of accounting-related experience, with exposure to A / R and A / P processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in a client-facing accounting role, particularly in the healthcare or TPA sector.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and data privacy best practices.
  • Previous involvement in financial audits or preparing audit documentation.
  • Proven ability to identify process improvements and implement data-driven solutions.
