Job Title : Software Development Engineer in Test (Must Meet ITAR Requirements)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Software Test Engineer to join our Integrated Engineering Solutions Team. In this role, you will collaborate with a world-class team of engineers and business leaders to ensure the reliability and efficiency of power system avionics hardware and power management algorithms / software. You will be involved in all phases of test software development, from requirements gathering to implementation, testing, and deployment. The focus will be on developing automated test cases for hardware-in-the-loop testing, utilizing power emulation test racks and satellite flight hardware.
Responsibilities
- Develop automated test cases for hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Work with stakeholders and peer teams to build verification matrices and test cases for satellite power subsystems, batteries, and solar arrays.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and test infrastructure teams to integrate, test, and validate new features using synthetic data in simulation environments or hardware-in-the-loop testbed systems.
- Develop and utilize monitoring and alerting systems to track space and ground infrastructure health and stability.
- Create and maintain robust and well-documented APIs to allow other engineers and partners to develop their custom models, integrations, and test assertions.
- Automate operational workflows to reduce manual intervention and improve system efficiency.
- Develop software systems in Python.
Essential Skills
4+ years of professional software development testing experience.4+ years of experience in building test automation frameworks and tools.Proficiency in Python for interfacing with test equipment and visualizing results.Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testbeds and integrated vehicle checkouts.Experience in hardware and software verification for satellite bus subsystems, ground stations, electrical power systems, batteries, or electronics / avionics.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.Experience with system test verification in power conversion, power systems, solar, battery, electric vehicles, satellites, or rockets.Knowledge of Ruby and systems engineering principles.Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate key requirements effectively.Cross-organizational communication skills, with the ability to clearly and persuasively convey ideas and concerns.Positive attitude and a willingness to work hard.Work Environment
This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position focused on verifying product and system requirements through rigorous test campaigns. You will be involved in hardware-in-the-loop testing and production acceptance testing, developing test processes and tools, including automation, to scale test campaigns while maintaining high standards for quality and test coverage. You will also perform tests on flight hardware and troubleshoot issues identified during test campaigns.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00 / hr.
