Vice President of Software Engineering (Houston)

VP of Software - Houston, TX or US Remote

A Series B funded startup who are building the infrastructure that powers how residential HVAC systems are monitored, maintained, and serviced are looking for a VP of Engineering to join their team.

What will I be doing :

• Lead and scale the software engineering organization
• Translate high-level product and platform vision into concrete, high-velocity execution
• Partner closely with the Head of Data, VP of Product, and AI / ML team to shape long-term architectural decisions and prioritize investments
• Manage and mentor a team of senior engineers, including Staff+ ICs and architects
• Drive engineering hiring, onboarding, and team design to support company growth and a strong technical culture
• Implement and evolve best practices across the development process, CI / CD, observability, security, and reliability
• Promote clear communication, technical rigor, and fast iteration across engineering and cross-functional teams
• Work closely with functional leaders across AI, Product, and Data to align engineering execution with company priorities and ensure the platform scales in lockstep with business needs
• Occasionally lead cross-functional initiatives, help drive company-wide technology strategy, and take ownership of budget and resourcing decisions
