The Tech Writer I is an entry-level position responsible for developing comprehensive documentation for aerospace and defense projects. This role involves working closely with subject matter experts to create clear, accurate, and detailed technical documents.

Duties

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to obtain an in-depth understanding of various aerospace and defense systems.
• Participate in the preparation of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documents, various engineering documents, test plans and procedures, and operator and maintenance manuals.
• Conduct internal and external documentation review meetings to gather feedback and incorporate necessary revisions.
• Ensure that all documentation complies with customer requirements, company standards, and industry regulations.
• Maintain and update documentation as systems and specifications evolve.
• Manage and organize documentation files and records for easy accessibility.
• Coordinate with Configuration Management (CM) staff to input documents into the CM software and route them through the review / approval / release process.

Essential Functions

Qualification

Education

Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Engineering, or a related field.

0-2 years of experience in technical writing or a related field within the aerospace and defense industry.

A higher level degree may substitute for experience Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
