Job Description
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading all production, manufacturing, and quality operations at WEISS North America. This position oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of manufacturing activities to ensure optimal production efficiency, safety, and product quality. The role also establishes and maintains quality standards across all product lines, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
This position requires a results-driven leader who can collaborate across departments to optimize processes, manage teams in assembly and machining, and uphold the company’s reputation for precision and excellence.
Job Responsibilities - Manufacturing Manager
Production Management
- Plan, coordinate, and maintain production schedules for all product lines
- Evaluate machine resources and workflow to ensure continued production efficiency and minimal downtime
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Set productivity goals for manufacturing teams and monitor performance metrics.
- Manage direct reports in assembly and machining, including scheduling, prioritization, and daily operations
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and sales to align production with demand and timelines
- Oversee training, recruitment, and onboarding of production team members
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and professional standards
- Analyze and optimize weak points in manufacturing and assembly processes
- Ensure communication between production staff and senior leadership to maintain alignment with company goals
Quality Management
Develop and enforce quality standards and test plans to safeguard product integrityOversee all quality assurance activities within manufacturing operationsPlan and coordinate the annual internal and external audit programConduct system and process audits; analyze results and implement corrective actionsLead continuous improvement initiatives using methods such as 8D, SPC, FMEA, and root cause analysisServe as the primary contact for customers regarding quality matters and feedbackPrepare and maintain quality management system (QMS) documentation and ensure traceable recordkeepingSupport supplier qualification, development, and performance monitoringEvaluate quality-related data and present findings to management for improvement planningCoordinate and train employees in quality management principles and measurement techniquesLeadership & Continuous Improvement
Motivate, mentor, and guide cross-functional teams to achieve performance and quality objectivesUtilize lean and Six Sigma tools to streamline production and eliminate wasteFoster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and proactive problem-solvingParticipate in management reviews and contribute to strategic operational planningSupport company growth objectives through process innovation and capacity planningPerform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed.Desired Skills & Experience - Manufacturing Manager
Education : Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or business administration required; advanced quality management training preferredExperience : Minimum of 5 years in production or quality management roles within manufacturingProven supervisory experience in assembly, machining, or quality assurance environmentsExperience applying preventive quality management tools and lean manufacturing principlesFamiliarity with machining practices, inspection methods, and metrology toolsExperience with measurement systems (CMM, PolyWorks) and quality management software (CAQ tools, Babtec a plus)Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV / SAP)Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and mentor teamsHighly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.Company Description
