Job description

Overview

The Los Angeles Unified School District is seeking a Coordinator for the Magnet Programs to support the court-ordered Predominantly Hispanic, Black, Asian, and Other Non-Anglo (PHBAO) and voluntary integration program guidelines. The Coordinator will collaborate with local school site teams to ensure the successful implementation of thematic instruction and adherence to magnet program guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and monitoring of the court-ordered Integration Program, including voluntary programs such as the Magnet Program and Permits with Transportation (PWT).
  • Guide school administrators and teachers to promote theme-based instruction across all content areas, ensuring fidelity to strategies that provide access to core curriculum, enrichment, and intervention for all magnet students.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct ongoing data-driven professional development for program curriculum, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead professional development workshops that build the capacity of school site magnet coordinators to meet voluntary integration program goals.
  • Monitor school and student performance on magnet-identified metrics to support evaluation of school progress toward magnet program goals.
  • Draft and edit policy bulletins, memorandums, and reference guides.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Permanent certificated employee of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
  • At least eight (8) years of successful, full-time public-school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than two (2) years of which must have been in a position(s) requiring the Administrative Services Credential.
  • At least five (5) years of successful, full-time public-school teaching experience in grades K-12.
  • Valid California Administrative Services Credential.
  • Earned master's degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework.

    42G (School Support Administrator, 0515) – E Basis ($129,897 – $162,207) – 234 paid days.
