Job Title : Temporary / Contract General Counsel (3–6 Months)

Location : Onsite – San Jose, CA

Duration : 3–6 Months (with potential extension)

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to provide hands-on legal leadership and support during a critical growth period. This onsite contract role offers an opportunity to work closely with senior leadership in a fast-paced, environmental and industrial sector company operating in a heavily regulated space .

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in commercial transactions , regulatory compliance, and general corporate law. You’ll advise executives, draft and negotiate complex agreements, and ensure the company remains compliant with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Serve as the company’s lead legal advisor on all corporate and commercial matters during the contract period.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, supply, distribution, licensing, and service contracts.
• Provide guidance on environmental, industrial, and regulatory compliance issues.
• Support business operations by identifying and mitigating legal risks.
• Advise leadership on corporate governance, employment, and risk management matters as needed.
• Collaborate with external counsel for specialized legal needs.
• Develop or refine internal policies, templates, and procedures to support ongoing compliance and operational efficiency.
