We are seeking an experienced and compassionate
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
- to join our team on a
- relief / per diem
- basis. This flexible position is ideal for a skilled technician looking to pick up shifts as needed and support our hospital team during staff absences, vacations, or busy periods. In this critical role, you will provide skilled and compassionate care to animals in need of immediate medical attention, collaborating closely with veterinarians and other veterinary professionals to deliver high-quality care for our communities' pets. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical skills, quick thinking, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in urgent care situations.
Responsibilities :
Respond promptly to urgent or emergency cases, triaging patients based on severity and prioritizing care accordingly.Assist veterinarians in the assessment, stabilization, and treatment of ill or injured animals.Perform advanced nursing procedures such as venipuncture, catheter placement, and wound management.Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and provide supportive care to patients.Perform diagnostic tests such as blood profiles, and imaging (radiography, ultrasound) as needed.Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's condition, prognosis, and treatment options.Maintain accurate medical records and ensure thorough documentation of patient care, treatments, and procedures.Collaborate with veterinary team members to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.Provide mentorship and guidance to veterinary assistants and less experienced team members as needed.Job Type : Part-time
Pay : From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours : 4 - 28 per week
