First Merchants Bank is seeking a Commercial Fulfillment Trainee to join our team! This position will provide an analytical review of due diligence and creation of loan closing documents ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements using guided instruction to resolve issues for non-real estate secured loans, including but not limited to Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Loans. Provide quality customer service through accurate and efficient processing from approval through closing. Position ensures completion of commercial fulfillment based on the loan structure, conditions, and collateral.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Complete accurate, unbiased due diligence review within required timelines and according to standards; Customer Identification Program (CIP), entity validation, facility structure, collateral security.

Validate authorized approval, analyze deal details outlined in approval to file support.

Analyze deal structure to determine appropriate legal closing documents required.

Identify, analyze, and balance gray areas of risk / exceptions

Prioritize time to effectively handle pipeline, change requests, communication from the line of business, and ensure closing dates are met.
