Manufacturing Engineer III

About the Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer on the Satellites and Spacecraft Systems Manufacturing Engineering Team, you will be responsible for design for manufacturing, tooling, and defining the overall build plans for satellite systems. You will oversee the construction of satellite and bus assemblies, including primary and secondary structures, electrical systems, and mechanisms. This role involves collaboration with design and production teams and direct involvement in component builds and assembly integration, serving as a key driver in the successful construction of these vehicles.

Manufacturing Engineers will engage in the fabrication, testing, and integration of vehicle and production systems, designing tooling and processes for rapid product assembly. Responsibilities include integration, operations sequencing, and working with technicians to install flight-critical hardware.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire product lifecycle for satellite builds.
• Provide engineering support for build, integration, testing, logistics, and launch phases.
• Collaborate with design engineers from concept to installation, driving continuous improvement.
• Develop production schedules, part demand, delivery, GSE, and tooling using cross-functional resources.
• Develop efficient, industry-standard processes leveraging Sierra best practices.
• Work collaboratively with engineers and technicians to solve issues.
• Support engineering documentation review, drafting, revising, and work instruction development.

Compensation

Pay Range : $106,700 - $146,712.50, with actual base determined case-by-case based on skills, education, experience, and market factors.
