Mental Health Counselor (Per Diem)

Job Overview :

We are seeking compassionate and skilled Mental Health Counselors to join our group practice on a per diem basis. This flexible position is ideal for clinicians looking to grow their caseload or supplement their current work by offering part-time counseling services. You will work with clients referred through Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), who receive a set number of covered sessions as part of their workplace benefits.

Clinicians have the autonomy to treat clients using their preferred therapeutic modalities and can choose the populations they serve—including individuals, couples, and families—across various age groups. You will also have the option to focus on your areas of specialty and select the level of clinical acuity appropriate to your scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide short-term, solution-focused counseling to clients referred through EAPs.

Contact referred clients within 24 hours of receiving the referral.

Track the number of EAP-covered sessions and develop a transition or referral plan once benefits are exhausted.

Maintain timely and complete clinical documentation on a weekly basis.

Select preferred client demographics (individuals, couples, families) and age groups.

Practice within your scope of competency and preferred clinical focus areas.

Qualifications :

Minimum of a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.

Current and active clinical license (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist) in the state of practice.

Experience providing mental health counseling to working professionals is preferred.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation : $50–$60 per session
