Anesthesiology Physician at Integrity Locums summary :

An Anesthesiology Physician provides patient care in a hospital setting, performing anesthesia for a range of surgical cases including trauma and vascular surgeries. This position requires active participation in pre-op evaluations, induction, emergence, and post-operative care, with an emphasis on supervision of CRNAs. The physician will also handle in-house call responsibilities and must maintain an active medical license and DEA certification in the relevant state.

  • Coverage Needed :

July 16, 2024 - ongoing

  • 5x10s per week
  • If taking weekday in-house call, the following day is post call
  • In-house call shift starts at 3pm and runs to 7am
  • Plus a 24 -hour regular weekend shift, Saturday 7am - Sunday 7am
  • Clinical Information :

    • Anesthetizing Sites : 12 ORs / 9 NORA

  • Number of Surgical Cases per Year : 9,000
  • Anesthesia Model : 9MD / 16 APP
  • MD : CRNA Ratio : 1 : 3. Care team model. Physicians do 99% supervision. Self performing cases is uncommon. Physicians are expected to be present for Induction and Emergence, participate in post op-care, participate in pre-op evaluation of patient. This is a hands on practice
  • Types of Cases : Level II Trauma, Ortho, Spine, Vascular, limited Neuro, Endo, EP Lab,

    • No OB or transplants

  • Cardiac Case Load : With TAVRs, mitral clips, CABG, etc. : 10-12 / week. 40-50 / month : EP, watchman : 80 / month
  • MDs will have a CRNA for the general OR / Trauma / IR cases
  • EMR : Medaxion (for anesthesia charting)

    • Meditech for orders & reviewing patient records

  • Required :

    • DEA must remain in state to maintain privileges. Provider must be willing transfer and maintain DEA in state for the duration of privileges being active, or obtain a new in state DEA to remain in state for the duration of privileges being active

  • Current Flu Vaccine
  • Must be fully vaccinated for Covid 19

    • Exemptions only allowed for religious or medical reasons, once approved by the facility.

  • Active FL License
  • Must be board certified or board eligible
