Job Summary :
Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Maintenance Technician - Welder plays a vital role in the repair, modification, and installation of equipment within our modular unit production facility. This hands-on position involves welding, cutting, and brazing metal components using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment, while also supporting routine building maintenance and collaborating with other skilled trades to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with team members to interpret work orders, prints, and sketches for fabrication and repair.
- Estimate tools, materials, and equipment needed for each job.
- Operate welding and fabrication tools with precision and safety.
- Plan work order procedures and gather necessary materials.
- Repair and fabricate equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
- Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, or damage.
- Prepare and tack weld parts and surfaces for assembly.
- Report faulty equipment or defective materials to supervisor.
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment for optimal performance.
- Verify accuracy of completed projects and ensure quality standards.
- Measure and mark materials based on blueprints or supervisor instructions.
- Inspect workpiece dimensions and remove imperfections like burrs or rust.
- Perform minor machine maintenance and operate fabrication shop machinery.
- Set guides and stops to specified lengths using templates or scales.
- Assist with building maintenance, furniture assembly, plumbing, and lighting
- Support facility operations through general cleaning and upkeep.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to avoid equipment breakdowns.
- Paint, remodel, and refurbish facility areas as needed.
- Maintain both interior and exterior property conditions.

Requirements :
Education : High School Diploma or related field, completion of a formal apprenticeship program required.Experience : Three years' experience as a Mig / Arc Welder, previous experience working with diverse populations preferred. Fabrication / design skills and experience are required.Certificates & Licenses : Mig or Arc Welder certification, preferred.Other Requirements :Demonstrated ability to understand directions and read blueprints.Extensive knowledge of Mig / Arc Welding.Demonstrated ability to perform basic arithmetic and solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.Proficient in use of hand tools and tools of the trade.Demonstrated ability to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.Demonstrated ability to work within a team or independently.Why Join Us?
