Description of Role

As a senior electrical engineer at Dephy, you’ll get to support and expand all aspects of our embedded systems and wearable technologies. You’ll develop and prototype analog circuits to power wearable devices, along with microcontrollers and microprocessors to drive them.

Our devices’ electromechanical characteristics, software platform, and controllers are highly integrated; You’ll work closely across disciplines with mechanical, software and control engineers to design these systems.

We are nerds at heart and love solving technical problems with minimum overhead. For instance, you could come up with a circuit idea on Monday, CAD it and order PCBs right away, write firmware while the prototypes are fabricated, and assemble and test them by the end of the week.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Be a good human - get along with the team, build strong working relationships, and execute on Dephy’s Values.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience
• A track record of independently designing PCBAs, obtaining prototypes from quick-turn fabricators, and integrating with complex assemblies at a fast pace.
• Strong circuit design skills including mixed-signal applications, microcontrollers, motor control, ADC / DAC, wired communications, switch-mode power supplies, thermal management, radio modules, etc.
• Experience performing engineering analyses and writing test plans, specifications, and test reports.
• Experience designing multi-layer PCBs tightly integrated with mechanical components.
• Experience designing high-speed circuits (microprocessors, RAM interface, inter-CPU communication).
• Experience bringing up and debugging hardware and associated firmware.
• Experience with embedded programming on microcontrollers (PSoC 4 / 5 and STM32 or equivalent, C).
• Ability to work with clients or other engineers to troubleshoot issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-sufficiency is key, as well as a strong attention to detail and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers, co-ops, and interns, by assigning tasks, training, peer-programming, and giving feedback when necessary.
