Internal Auditor & Trainer
The Internal Auditor & Trainer is responsible for overseeing property-level compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls across Stonebridge's portfolio in New York. This role conducts audits, evaluates financial and operational systems, identifies areas of risk, and delivers training to hotel staff on accounting practices and control procedures. Partnering closely with both hotel and corporate accounting teams, the Internal Auditor & Trainer helps ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with Stonebridge Companies' Distinguished Hospitality standards.
Essential Functions & Duties
Assess each property's compliance with company policies, procedures, and brand standards while evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and information systems.
Prepare and present audit reports, highlighting findings and recommending corrective actions.
Conduct training sessions for hotel staff on accounting practices, compliance requirements, and control procedures.
Collaborate with hotel and corporate accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Respond promptly to property inquiries, providing guidance to hotel and corporate leadership as needed.
Manage multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
Travel to assigned properties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Experience, Education & Skills
Minimum 2+ years of hotel front office, administrative, or accounting experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with accounting systems preferred. (M3, ProfitSword, Ottimate are ideal but not required)
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to identify patterns and trends.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with associates and leaders at all levels.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
Based in the New York Corporate Office in Wall Street with the ability to travel to properties as needed.
Primarily an indoor office environment with moderate noise levels typical of a hotel or corporate setting.
Frequent sitting with occasional standing and walking.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
