Job Opportunity

  • This position is M - F, 8 : 30am - 4 : 30pm, pay range $21-$23 / hr, depending upon experience

Summary : Process all receipting for the City Fund, General Fund, Booth Manor, and Social Service / Governmental programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Be responsible for the receipting of income to include preparing deposits and entering receipt batches in the computer.
  • Coordinate the pick-up of bank deposits and delivery of supplies by the armored carrier service.
  • Assist in opening and sorting in-coming mail every day.
  • Assist in the disposal of dated material.
  • Provide clerical and secretarial support to the General Fund Supervisor.
  • Track all internet donations and ensure proper posting / distribution.
  • Assist General Fund Supervisor with yearly budget preparations & approved budget input into Acumatica.
  • Serves as backup for Accounts Payable clerk when need arises.
  • Prepare monthly journal entry spreadsheets for copier, postage & DHQ floater vehicle usage.
  • Process monthly financial reports for the General Fund and analyzes accounts, including all exchange and transmission accounts.
  • Process DHQ invoices for the General Fund.
  • All other tasks as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities : None.

    Education and / or Experience : Associate degree in accounting or related field with one to two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Qualifications : The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and / or ability required for this position.

  • Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills, and the ability to access data systems via a web-based system.
  • Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to details and filing.
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong independent judgement.
  • Other Qualifications : Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

    Physical Requirements : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical requirements include good speaking, hearing and vision ability and excellent manual dexterity. Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment. May need to climb, balance. Kneel, crouch or crawl. This position will require the ability to lift and / or move more than 20 pounds occasionally.

    Working Conditions : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job an office environment and while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
