THE OPPORTUNITY : Social Media Associate

REPORTS TO : Social Media Manager

Headquartered in Los Angeles, CA with an office in New York, NY, Birdy Grey supports hybrid work for eligible roles. This role requires working from our DTLA office 1 day a week. We ask that all employees travel to either office once a quarter. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. #LI-HYBRID

Role and focus

Birdy Grey is looking for a Social Media Associate with a strategic eye to create content, be in content, and assist managing all Birdy Grey social media channels, with a focus on video format for TikTok and IG Reels. This role will help build and support the brand’s social strategy to align with the business goals and objectives. The Social Media Associate will help activate and grow our social community, manage content distribution, and create engaging platform-specific content that contributes to the overall strategy by staying current with platform trends and features. This role will partner with content creators, influencers, and support other brand initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist managing Birdy Grey’s social media channels, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube, with the goal of engaging and growing audiences by channel.
  • Manage the social content calendar per the monthly strategy; ensure daily content is approved for posting, assets are formatted correctly, channel-specific posting formats are designated, and content is scheduled.
  • Create and participate in on-camera content for both organic and paid social media as needed, including speaking to engage our audience.
  • Formulate a growth strategy for TikTok by leveraging influencer and organic content.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Marketing, and Creative on content development and social strategy.
  • Provide real-time responses to platform updates or cultural moments.
  • Manage and attend production shoots for social-specific content execution, including gathering props, creating production schedules, managing shoots, and aiding post-production.
  • Design and execute creative Instagram Stories, Instagram Reels, and TikToks that share our brand narrative and drive engagement and sales.
  • Engage with fans of the brand and tagged posts.
  • Develop copy for social posts that adheres to channel-specific best practices and invites conversation.
  • Coordinate with teams to obtain and approve deliverables and assets for campaigns.
  • Own research, outreach, order placement and brand relationships with partnership opportunities for giveaways.
  • Distribute monthly KPI reporting on all social channels.
  • Utilize data and analytics to provide insights and suggest direction and strategy for brand growth and engagement.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS :

  • 1-3 years of experience assisting with social media on behalf of a brand.
  • A passion for all things social, an active personal user.
  • Knowledge of channel-specific features by platform.
  • Comfortable being on camera.
  • Ability to write copy that is both creative and engaging.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • An eye for aesthetics and branding.
  • Experience creating engaging social content, especially videos and TikToks.
  • Knowledge and experience using video editing apps.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform data deep dives to surface actionable insights.
  • Proactive problem solver with the ability to troubleshoot and / or escalate issues effectively.
  • Hard-working and willing to roll up sleeves—no job is too big or too small.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit; thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, fluid environment with comfort in ambiguity and initiative to lead projects.
  • NICE TO HAVES

  • Start-up experience is a plus
  • Interest and knowledge in the fashion and bridal industry
  • Some Adobe Suite knowledge; photography skills (iPhone and DSLR)
