Duke University Health Systems seeks to hire a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) who embraces our mission of  Advancing Health Together

Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our oncology team at Duke Raleigh Campus, Duke Women's Cancer Care Raleigh, and Duke Cancer Cary to support clinical excellence in a dynamic, multidisciplinary enviroment. This role supports a wide range of oncology needs across inpatient and outpatient services, offering an exciting opportunity for Clinical Nurse Specialists with strong ambulatory experience to expand into oncology. While prior oncology experience is valued, we welcome candidates with 3+ years of CNS experience in other specialties who bring a passion for patient-centered care and a readiness to grow in the oncology field. Key responsibilities include clinical leadership, policy and program development, quality improvement, staff developement, and contributions to research and publications. This CNS would collaborate closely with other oncology CNSs supporting infusion, outpatient, and inpatient settings across the system. Local travel to Duke Cancer Institue sites expected.

Experience : 3+ years of Clinical Nurse Specialist experience, Oncology or ambulatory experience preferred

Hours :   Monday-Friday 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm

Locations : Duke Raleigh Campus, Duke Women's Cancer Care Raleigh, and Duke Cancer Cary. This position will be split between inpatient and outpatient oncology services (approximately 25% inpatient / 75% outpatient)

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level :

Required Qualifications at this Level.

Education : MSN required

Experience :

3+ years of Clinical Nurse Specialist experience

Oncology experience is preferred.

Degrees, Licensure, and / or Certification :

Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.

Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical team members.

Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems and other healthcare technology.

Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of oncology nursing.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
