Job Summary
The Department of Biology at Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Exercise Scienceto start in August 2026.
Specific Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to 1) teaching undergraduate courses (e.g., Introduction to Exercise Science, Introductory Biology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics), 2) supervising external student internships, 3) engaging in scholarship in the discipline and mentoring undergraduate student research, and 4) providing service to the department and university.
Minimum Qualifications
Required : An earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or a closely related field is required by time of appointment. Demonstrated success or evidence of potential to excel in teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate students is essential, as is evidence of a strong commitment to effective and engaging pedagogical practices. Evidence of scholarly productivity and a research program that can involve undergraduate students is required.
Preferred : Experience teaching at the college level and nationally recognized professional certification (e.g. NSCA or ACSM or equivalent) is preferred.

Start-up-funding, additional forms of institutional support, and the opportunity for pre-tenure sabbatical leave are available. The position will play key role in the newly established exercise science major at SU.
