Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,612 per week in Webster, TX

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Progressive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 1 year License : Active RN License Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have : - IMCU experience including chest tubes, BiPAP, and tracheostomy care. - Critical thinking skills. - Cardiac monitoring with intervention experience. - Drip experience with medications such as Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin. Description : The unit has 24 beds and employs 52 staff members. Day shift includes 1 Secretary, 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RN Floor Nurses, and 2-3 Nurse Techs. Night shift includes 1 Charge Nurse and 6 RN / LVN Floor Nurses along with 2-3 Nurse Techs. Sitters will be used as needed. Patient ratios are approximately 4 to 5 patients per nurse. The unit is equipped with GE bedside monitors, Welch Dinamaps, Alaris pumps, and Kangaroo pumps. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech. Candidates with cardiovascular experience are preferred. Common procedures performed in the unit include TAVR, Watchman procedures, heart catheterizations with complications, PCI, CABG, pacemaker placements, ablations, and cardioversion. The ideal candidate would be respectful, a team player, outgoing, and possess a positive attitude. Candidates should care for patients like family, be eager and willing to learn, and communicate effectively with patients and their families. Weekends will need to be rotated among staff. The dress code consists of royal blue scrubs.
