Description : Position Summary :
The Surgical Institute of Central Florida is seeking a dedicated Operating Room Circulating Registered Nurse to join our team. The OR Circulating Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical environment. This role requires strong critical thinking, organizational skills, and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff.
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as the patient advocate in the operating room, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Prepare and maintain the surgical environment, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Monitor and document patient status throughout the perioperative process within the SISI Complete EMR.
- Assist the surgical team by managing sterile fields, handling instruments, and maintaining accurate surgical counts.
- Coordinate with anesthesia providers and surgical team members to anticipate and respond to patient needs.
- Ensure compliance with infection control policies, regulatory standards, and best practices.
- Assist with inventory management to track and manage surgical supplies, including ordering, maintaining PAR levels, monitoring expiration dates, and maximizing cost efficiency.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning as needed.

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of FloridaCurrent BLS and ACLS certificationsSatisfactory background check and reference verificationBasic computer knowledgeCompletion of all required onboarding documentsAbility to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages are preferred.Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to provide patient care.You will also be required to review and comply with all institutional policies, including safety, infection control, patient confidentiality, and clinical protocols.
