Adecco is hiring an Assistant Purchasing Manager for a well-established food manufacturing company on the North Shore. This position supports day-to-day purchasing and inventory operations for a production environment where precision and attention to detail are essential. Responsibilities :
- Assist with daily purchasing activities including placing and tracking orders, maintaining supplier communication, and updating records in the order management system.
- Coordinate material needs for production — most product formulations involve multiple ingredients that require careful scheduling and verification.
- Perform regular inventory checks, cycle counts, and reconciliations to ensure materials are accurately tracked.
- Work with production, quality, and warehouse teams to identify and resolve material shortages or order discrepancies.
- Monitor ingredient availability, shelf life, and quality to ensure materials meet production requirements.
- Help maintain supplier data, pricing, and lead-time information to support accurate purchasing decisions.
- Contribute ideas to improve purchasing and inventory processes as part of a collaborative operations team.
Qualifications :
Prior experience in purchasing, inventory coordination, or production support preferred, but not required.Experience in food, beverage, or manufacturing environments a plus.Strong attention to detail and basic math proficiency.Comfortable working in a fast-paced production setting where priorities may shift day to day.Proficient with Microsoft Excel and open to learning new systems.Reliable, organized, and motivated to grow in a long-term career within the industry.Why Join :
