Assistant Purchasing Manager

Adecco is hiring an Assistant Purchasing Manager for a well-established food manufacturing company on the North Shore. This position supports day-to-day purchasing and inventory operations for a production environment where precision and attention to detail are essential. Responsibilities :

• Assist with daily purchasing activities including placing and tracking orders, maintaining supplier communication, and updating records in the order management system.
• Coordinate material needs for production — most product formulations involve multiple ingredients that require careful scheduling and verification.
• Perform regular inventory checks, cycle counts, and reconciliations to ensure materials are accurately tracked.
• Work with production, quality, and warehouse teams to identify and resolve material shortages or order discrepancies.
• Monitor ingredient availability, shelf life, and quality to ensure materials meet production requirements.
• Help maintain supplier data, pricing, and lead-time information to support accurate purchasing decisions.
• Contribute ideas to improve purchasing and inventory processes as part of a collaborative operations team.
