Position Summary :
The Driver is responsible for providing complimentary shuttle transportation for hotel guests in accordance with hotel standards for guest satisfaction and safety and security. Position entails working in and with multiple departments to maintain customer service delivery, cleanliness, banquet setup, security, laundry processing and housekeeping stocking and storing.
Essential Functions :
- Transport guests to and from hotel.
- Provide suggestions to hotel patrons of places to visit, eat, and shop.
- Assist guests with luggage including delivery or pickup to guest room(s) as needed.
- Maintain and service hotel vans on a regular basis.
- Ensure vans are clean and presentable at all times.
- Coordinate multiple pickup and drop-offs while adhering to a schedule.
- Assist front desk with phone calls, check-in and check-outs and inquiries.
- Explain and sell hotel services to guests.
- Pass on guest requests to the front desk, housekeeping and / or maintenance personnel.
- Assist in the breakfast area as needed including opening, closing and cleaning.
- Set up meeting rooms according to daily function sheets.
- Ensure all banqueting areas are properly secured after close of business.
- Monitor, tear down and clean meeting rooms as needed.
- Ensure surplus equipment is removed and returned to storage once meeting / event functions are finished.
- Reconcile equipment against function sheet to ensure no items have been misappropriated.
- Check equipment against inventory regularly to minimize losses.
- Sweep, mop and vacuum public areas needed.
- Remove litter from front and back parking areas as needed.
- Remove snow and ice from sidewalks as needed.
- Ensure hotel entrances are accessible and safe at all times.
- Walk the entire hotel (3 floors and stairwells) and outside perimeter and courtyard every hour.
- Ensure no unruly behavior persists and take appropriate actions in the event of unreasonableness by guests and non-hotel guests.
- Ensure guests are evacuated in accordance to evacuation procedures in the event of a fire.
- Process, fold and store hotel laundry as needed.
- Stock housekeeping carts and linen rooms.
- Follow all hotel policies and procedures.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as necessary.
- All other duties as assigned.
