Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) day shift role, requiring a VA or compact RN license and Epic experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU caring for patients who have undergone cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacement or repair, heart transplantation, and lung transplantation
  • Day shift position, working four 12-hour shifts (7 : 00 to 19 : 00)
  • Every other weekend required with coverage for 2 out of 3 winter holidays; no Christmas time off (12 / 24-12 / 25) permitted
  • Block scheduling is not available
  • Candidates must adhere to float policy and may be asked to float within their scope within the facility
  • Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience is required
  • Care for complex cardiac and thoracic cases, including transplant patients
  • Maximum of 40 hours requested time off (RTO) allowed during the 13-week contract
  • Completion of orientation modules (up to 16 hours non-billable) required during onboarding
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Return policy requires at least 12 months since previous employment within the health system for eligibility
  • Facility does not allow travelers to return after they have worked on assignment for 365 days, regardless of separation period
  • No radius restriction for candidates
  • Blue scrubs are required

  • Active VA or compact RN license, or eligible with license pending at time of application
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Experience in a Cardiovascular ICU or similar critical care environment required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • BSN preferred
  • Two professional references required at time of consideration
