American Traveler is seeking an experienced Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer for a high-volume academic medical environment, requiring at least 5 years of echo experience and BLS certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an inpatient / outpatient echocardiography lab on a large academic medical campusAdult and geriatric patient population with advanced protocols and pathologies4x10 day shifts, 07 : 00–17 : 30; rotating Saturday with an additional day off during the weekEvery other weekend required; holiday rotation coverage expectedNo on-call requiredFloating within the service line and scope may be neededNo local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radiusUses EPIC EMR; EPIC charting experience preferredGE equipment, Bubble Study, Contrast Agents, M-Mode utilizedRole involves performing routine and complex echocardiograms; no involvement in stress testing or TEE coveragePart of a large, IAC-accredited echo lab with a collaborative teamScrub color is flexible; any color allowedParking is available for a fee; orientation parking not reimbursedReturn staff must have a 1-year gap if previously employed at the facilityTravelers may remain on assignment up to 12 months (allied), with a 6-month break required after 12 monthsRTO is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first weekFirst-time travelers are acceptedLicense required if applicable\n \n Requirements\n
Minimum 5 years of dedicated echocardiography experience required; inpatient experience preferredBLS certification requiredRDCS-Adult credential strongly preferred; RCS considered with strong experienceProficiency with PACS systems requiredExperience with GE equipment, Bubble Study, Contrast Agents, and M-Mode is requiredEPIC EMR experience preferredGeneral skills with portables and biopsies preferredPreferred experience in outpatient, inpatient, ER, Level I Trauma, or teaching hospital settingsPhysical endurance and critical thinking required for high daily volumeMust maintain facial hair restrictions for successful FIT testing if applicableStrong preference for left-handed scanning due to ergonomic set-up\n Benefits\n
