Senior Accountant Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Golden, Colorado. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in accounting practices and financial management to support operations within an educational institution. This is a long-term contract position requiring a strong background in charter schools and public sector accounting.
Responsibilities
Manage month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Oversee general ledger operations, including posting and maintaining accounts.
Prepare and review journal entries to maintain compliance with accounting standards.
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure proper cash management.
Track and manage capital assets, including depreciation schedules and amortization.
Develop and maintain depreciation schedules for organizational assets.
Support financial operations within public schools or educational institutions.
Utilize PeopleSoft Financials and ERP systems to streamline accounting processes.
Analyze financial data pipelines for accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on detail, preferably in charter schools or public sector organizations.
Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.
Expertise in journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
Familiarity with capital asset management, including depreciation and amortization.
Strong knowledge of financial operations specific to educational institutions.
Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Financials and ERP systems.
Ability to analyze and manage data pipelines for accounting purposes.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
