Transportation Aide

Part Time | Monday, Wednesday, Friday | 9am-5pm

$18-20 / hr

(Pay based on experience)

As a Transportation Aide, you will carry out our mission to improve the experience of aging together by providing escort and care assistance as needed during transportation of Keswick residents to designated destinations. Supporting resident activities as schedule allows when not involved in resident transport.

What will I do as a Transportation Aide?

  • Assist in onboarding, securing, and offboarding residents for safe transport to various locations. May participate in resident assistance during outings; examples include but are not limited to; transfer resident from one surface to another, toileting, hygiene and eating, assisting with shopping tasks such as reaching items on high shelves for a wheelchair resident and / or assisting with moving a food order from counter to table, etc. To the extent possible, requests time off with adequate time to enable alternate transportation arrangements for residents.
  • Ensure provision and receipt of documentation relating to medical visits. Ensure protection of residents' personal health information and confidentiality.
  • During times when not involved in transportation activities, works with recreation to support resident activities such as escorting residents to and from activities and programs and / or assisting residents with participation in activities.
  • May be asked to support transportation to / from on-site clinics, dialysis den, salon, etc. when not on an outside appointment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned : including, but not limited to; possible floor assignment, assisting with evacuations and emergencies.

    • What is required in this position?

  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Certification Nursing Assistant required, Geriatric Nursing Assistant preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience providing care to elderly population.
