Founded in 1984, Best Formulations LLC is a diversified nutraceutical and personal care company headquartered in City of Industry, California. We are a contract manufacturer of thousands of branded SKUs, including nutritional supplements : softgels, tablets, capsules, powders, teas, dietary supplements, and vegetarian softgels.

About The Role

We are a trusted partner to our customers in innovation, boasting strong R&D, product formulation, and technical teams. As an R&D Project Manager, you will coordinate, track, and manage all aspects of external and internal customer projects—long-term and short-term tasks—establishing timelines, coordinating resources, providing product quotations, handling samples and technical documentation, and supporting all other customer requests.

You will act as liaison between R&D, Sales & Customer Service, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, and Operations teams, ensuring customer requirements are communicated and implemented to achieve desired outcomes on time, within budget, and per stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Create strong professional relationships with customers, sales representatives, R&D, operations, and quality functions.
  • Proactively acknowledge customer requests and promptly resolve issues.
  • Participate in customer meetings, audits, tours, and video conferences, maintaining positive communication via video, fax, email, telephone, and in-person meetings.
  • Provide direct assistance or coordinate assistance to specific project tasks and objectives.
  • Define and clearly communicate project goals, outcomes, and success criteria.
  • Develop detailed plans, outline tasks, timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure projects remain on track, addressing changes and deviations.
  • Lead project teams, set expectations, and facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor project progress, track activities, and evaluate performance against the plan.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, communicate challenges, and negotiate solutions.
  • Establish efficient communication channels and promote information sharing.
  • Maintain accurate records, including reports, documentation, plans, meeting minutes.
  • Monitor quality of deliverables, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Capture lessons learned and use feedback to improve future projects.
  • Ship samples via FedEx, USPS, or UPS as needed.
  • Comply with all company policies, safety rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform other job duties related to the role as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Administration, Project Management, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical / Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proficient written and spoken English; bilingual (English / Mandarin Chinese) skills are a plus.
  • Five (5) or more years of work experience in the nutraceutical industry, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Proficient expertise in Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar is a strong plus.

  • Location & Salary

    Position is on-site. Base salary range : $74,000 – $88,000 per year, based on experience.

    Employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Holidays, Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement.

    Salary may be adjusted for location, skills, education, and experience.
