Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Observation Unit night shift position requiring inpatient experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in the ER Observation Unit within a hospital settingInpatient patient population with a variety of health issues ranging from simple to complexNight shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per weekThis role is not open to candidates with only ER experienceDuties include delivering inpatient nursing care, monitoring and documenting patient responses, assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, and managing IV infusions and blood productsMust communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructionsExpected to delegate tasks to support staff and collaborate with the healthcare teamA 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates living within 50 miles are not eligibleCandidates who have previously worked with this health system may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks before a mandatory six-month breakNight shift position with inpatient care responsibilitiesRequirements
Active RN license from Oklahoma or a compact state (eNLC)Current AHA-issued Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificationsMinimum of one year professional nursing experience in an inpatient setting requiredAssociate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program requiredStrong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and proceduresAbility to coordinate nursing services and maintain effective working relationshipsProficiency in verbal and written communicationSome computer skills requiredBenefits
