Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Observation Unit night shift position requiring inpatient experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the ER Observation Unit within a hospital setting
  • Inpatient patient population with a variety of health issues ranging from simple to complex
  • Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week
  • This role is not open to candidates with only ER experience
  • Duties include delivering inpatient nursing care, monitoring and documenting patient responses, assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, and managing IV infusions and blood products
  • Must communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions
  • Expected to delegate tasks to support staff and collaborate with the healthcare team
  • A 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates living within 50 miles are not eligible
  • Candidates who have previously worked with this health system may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks before a mandatory six-month break
  • Night shift position with inpatient care responsibilities
  • Requirements

  • Active RN license from Oklahoma or a compact state (eNLC)
  • Current AHA-issued Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Minimum of one year professional nursing experience in an inpatient setting required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to coordinate nursing services and maintain effective working relationships
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication
  • Some computer skills required
